game-d

hello. been 1 month plus since i last post on here. taking a new direction with this blog. will only post when its needed to post. no more updates on self anymore. just when something that needs to talk about then i will post.

so for this post.....lets shall say i am inspired to post about games. yes games. my rated games that i find good to play and at the same time brilliant graphics. lets rate the top 10 PC games that i have played and my reason:

10)Football Manager series: a boring game for those who prefers the action and adrenaline pumping games. but this game makes u think on the ball and at times its rubbishly "cheating" its still a fun game to play. not as easy as it looks. for those who thinks they more footballing knowledge than the current managers of club feel free to have a hand at it. Latest installment out early next year Football Manager 2010.

9) Prototype: brilliant graphics and gameplay. not those mindless killing type of games. forces the player to think before action. a mixture of assassin creed with the gore of Fear this game really is fun to play. eat up humans and disguise yourself as the human eaten. killing spree with spikes coming out from his body. all in all an extremely fun game to play. but gets kinda of draggy towards the end.

8)FIFA series: 1st got my hand on the FIFA series back in 1998. poor graphics and all but it was still great fun to play. unlike Football manager, the fate of the game is in the player's hands. and with the varying degree of difficulty it ensures even the noobs of games can still win matches. latest installment FIFA 10 out soon.

7)Heroes of Might & Magic series: 1st game launched on the back of a very successful RPG Might & Magic(one of the earliest RPG Dungeons & Dragons game out there)its a well thought strategic game. brings in the elements from Might and Magic and Heroes more than lived up to its predecessor. quite a difficult game to play but its a good challenge to the mind to outwit the enemy. Graphics improved termendously in its latest version but gameplay is more so the same.

6)Neverwinter Night series: Another brilliant RPG game. another successful Dungeons & Dragons game. absolute brilliant gameplay and graphics(better with the newer installment) it gives u freedom to shape your character from his skills to his alignment to his abilities. one of newer version of Dungeons & Dragons and its graphics slightly better than Baldurs Gate because of that.
5)Baldurs Gate: one of the earliest RPG game that i have played. brilliant storyline with brilliant game plays and had one of the best graphics in those days, this was game of the year by a mile when it came out. u create 1 character(hero or heroine)then the rest of your travelling party is up to you to choose. it gives freedom to choose how you wanna be. bad or good?mage or paladin?freedom is also given to choose your party alignment. the more evil people in your party the more evil your party becomes. certainly the best Dungeons & Dragons game out there.
4) CounterStrike: who would disagree with me that this game took the gameworld by storm when it was 1st released. any gaming kid who do not know what is CS will be deemed as uncool. its was such a popular game. created by the same team which brought Half Life into the world it pits a terrorist against counter terrorist. simply kill and kill. however u want it but the basic principle is kill. brilliant multiplayer and its so good that gaming tournaments today still has this has one of the competition. and also a landmark for me as it was the 1st game that i had a taste of online battle. how good was i?well lets just say it provides a good base for me in Call of Duty 4.
3) Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare: some may scratch the head how this made into my top 3. well it made into most gamers top 5 FPS games. it outshines CS as it has a storyline and a brilliant war effect in its single player. its multiplayer is also brilliant with such realistic graphics and not mindless killings. forces u to think and outsmart your multiplayer opponent. with punkbuster most cheats online are kicked out. and really the pinnacle of my gaming life with this game as i garnered alot of respect online with my gameplay. hell, i made friends online because of this game. who says gaming robbed u of social life?:P next installment in this modern warfare series is due out this coming november. rest assured :.NS.: will be part of it.
2) Command and Conquer series: 1st had a taste of C&C back in early 90s when my bro plays it using the very2 and i really mean old computer. it was like stickman moving back then. gameplay and graphics improved termendously over the years but the game is still as fun as it was back then. very strategic game and it needs alot of brains to win games. i am probably an avid player of this series as i have alot of their games from Red Alert to Generals to Tiberium Wars. the game that got me into gaming. hoping they released a newer series soon.
1) Starcraft: another brilliant game. the best game that i have played back in 1998-2000. another strategic game. it was so well thought off from the brilliant storyline to very good graphics back then. the game is long and difficult but it doesnt get draggy because the storyline makes u feel like u r in a movie. u wanna continue and continue to see where the story goes. good ending for both the original and the expansion set and really is one of the best games created so far. so far the new Starcraft 2 has hitched alot of the technical problems that its release date have been pushed from end of 2008 to 2010? hopefully the new addition to the series wont pull the success the game has brought so far. patiently waiting for Starcraft 2 to be released.
Games to watch out for:
Flashpoint-same effect as C&C from the looks of it. out in oct 09'
Left 4 Dead 2- will it live up to the expectations of L4D?time will tell. out in nov 09'
Call of Duty 6- Cod4 revolutionised gaming warfare. can this feel up COD4 big shoes? out in nov
09'
Starcraft 2-with all this hiccups, lets hope they will revolutionised the gaming world with this new series and not bring down Starcraft reputation. *indefinite date of released*
Diablo 3- another one of hiccups. so far diablo have been good. could this ruin diablo reputation?time will tell..*indefinite date of released*
assassin creed 2-missed to buy Assassin Creed 1. looking foward to it. out soon.

yo2...back to posting about well nothing really. just finished with exams and now on attachments. as busy as A&E(SGH) was, i quite like it. and i was scared the living crap out of me to go there initially cos of "pressure to perform in a tense environment" it is pressurise as in the work but the staffs there are nice so it kind of release the pressure/workload. tired, shagged and sleepy yet i find it one of the most fun attachment i have ever been to(except A&E Ortho-it was the most dull..lols)i guess its down to the good staffs. good people all around in there..thumbs up from me..:)

as PRCP approaches and starting real staffnurse work in under 7months i have been thinking which department to go to launch my nursing career. so far in random order of 3-A&E,55(urology and HEENT) and possibly my PRCP ward and/or medical ward. that's the 3 i guess. as PRCP approaches as well, i am more confident in putting up IV lines, preparing I/M medications(god knows how horribly that went in assessment in year 2), ECG(from dont know placement to able to intepret just abit) and many2 more. i guess for nursing that is "practice really makes perfect" and that is no such thing as 1 time perfect. its a gradual improvement and what makes nursing unique is there is never ending in perfecting a technique no matter how simple or easy or basic it is.

till next time folks...adios!!

Lets see...what have happened in the past days i have not posted. lets start with FYP. it was a success in terms of my group but failed as a whole project cos not many people came to visit my booth. it was so squeezed together that no one noticed we are stuck in one end of the bloody atrium. overall i would describe it as fun but no i would'nt want to do it again. no thank u..

next...finished off with all the projects..finally...:) cannot tahan liao. but yesh!!! its done. wohoo!! FYP presentation was good. it was very organised and most likely A for FYP :) socio of work(one hell of a difficult presentation) was not as bad as we thought. got a B despite the slides being ready lets see...an hour before the presentation..lols..good job team on getting it done......

and hmmm last but certainly by far not the least. we celebrated Sha's birthday on 7th august(her birthday is on 8th but its a saturday so we celebrate it on the 7th). it was a meticulous planning but we gotta outfoxed the fox. lol..cos she's always the planner for this type of things. so we gotta think outside of the box. overall it was a good success. :) hope u like the prezzies mate. and since we are on the talk of birthday...today is......................singapore's 44th birthday!!! wohoo!! fairness

yo2 back to posting today on what was supposed to be a poster making day but alas yana got sick..dont worry mate..just rest well..:)

for the 1st time in some time i got some real time behind the computer..lol..yep..barely have an hr a day to play games or even touch my com. so since i got time to think through what i have done or not done this past week something just can't help but pop in my mind. every week when i have this 'flashback' for the week i always must include whether i have hurt anyone(accidental or not) or help anyone and how i can improve myself further. and this week i can't help but feel i have not done enough to find out why a friend is feeling down. instead i have been flying with my own assumption(not good one i might add) which is just not nice of me. we all have our down days(many for some)and i could have tolerated it better. especially this few weeks with all the projects and assignments to do. it sucks the life out of everyone. note to self...dont be too insensitive of others...

but hey this past week is not all doom and gloom or insensitive or watever. for the 1st time in a long2 while the class was united in doing the FYP packing. it was so well organised(in my view) and everyone was working for one another. hell,we controlled it so well that we pwned the other class..LOL...like it or not we are in it together. and all of us share the same opinion of the FYP. look foward to more of the same till the end of this coming week. yes2...the booth show will be on 22/7/09 wednesday for the whole day in NYP atrium. come on in if u want. LOL..i can't believe i have just promoted the FYP booth..lols...alrighty...time to chill on my bed and probably dozed off again..lols...till next time adios mates!!

Pay it Foward

yo...back to posting.

so anyways...was watching this movie on HBO/Star Movies Pay It forward. now, this is an old show but what interest me was about basicly the principles of the story. basicly this story is about a young boy who during a social studies class, his teacher challenged them to create a way to help the society. so what this kid thought off was "do favour/good deed for 3 people and those 3 people must also each do the same for another 3 people and it goes on" now that is of course a story, i dunno whether it is true. but think of it this way. IF people in this world could do such a thing, wouldnt it be great? we could even see poverty possibly going down, hell world peace could even happen.

now the question is...is it realistic? possibly not. it takes alot of effort for such a movement to happen. now i feel even if each person doesnt do a favour for 3 people, i tink even 1 is more than good enough. i just wonder if it were to happen in the real world and it spreads worldwide how much good it will do to society. question is...are people willing to do it?

hello...my blog has been quite erm left to rot actually. been tinking whether to keep posting or just remove this blog. but anyways since its active, i will TRY not to make it so down and gloomy in here. after the last 2 post, this blog feels like someone just died in here. now..lets get the sun back in....

well, the last 2 weeks have been quite good. 1st of all, completed finally my room "renovation" yes!! finally i wont roll down the bed. aaahhhh...more spacious. LOL..its much better and organised now than before. better place for my books and well notes i need are much easier to find now..xD now all thats left in my room is just SCV!!! then i can hibernate in my room for the hold day except maybe for food..lol..

next up...my progress in the gym seems good. inspired by the regulars there to pump myself up further. of course i am still at beginners level but i am getting there. for me a balance between cardiovascular and gym works is important. 2.4km run is a must and well getting more tanned nowadays. lol..

and well, finally i am off the "blues" LOL. the day just seems brighter it seems. smiling more and joking more....aaahhhhh...i feel refreshed..lol. back to my well errr poly self. and no i am not off the 'blues" cos i got a gf. that part....issshhh....still a sore missing point..xD

well....i will get down and gloomy abit just abit for this post. the world will miss one great icon. R.I.P MJ...the icon who created pop and revolutionised dancing. may god bless ur soul good man..

lets see...next few weeks....its goin to be the "hell" week. everything from assignments to assessments is next week. o well..guess life is fair. it gives ya 2 good weeks and gives ya weeks of hell. bring it on..LOL...good luck to my mates for the assessments...we will graduate together..:) till next time adios mates!!

One song

if theres one song that likened to my life..it would be Breaking the Habit by Linkin park..the song music itself is ok but the lyrics describes how confused i am or used to be..

Memories consume
Like opening the wound
I'm picking me apart again
You all assume
I'm safe here in my room
Unless I try to start again
I don't want to be the one
The battles always choose
'Cause inside I realize
That I'm the one confused
I don't know what's worth fighting for
Or why I have to scream
I don't know why I instigate
And say what I don't mean
I don't know how I got this wayI know it's not alright
So I'm breaking the habit
I'm breaking the habit tonight
Clutching my cure
I tightly lock the door
I try to catch my breath again
I hurt much more
Than anytime beforeI had no options left again
I don't want to be the one
The battles always choose
'Cause inside I realize
That I'm the one confused
I don't know what's worth fighting for
Or why I have to scream
I don't know why I instigate
And say what I don't mean
I don't know how I got this way
I'll never be alright
So I'm breaking the habit
I'm breaking the habit tonight
I'll paint it on the walls
'Cause I'm the one at fault
I'll never fight again
And this is how it ends
I don't know what's worth fighting for
Or why I have to scream
But now I have some clarity
To show you what I mean
I don't know how I got this way
I'll never be alright
So I'm breaking the habit
I'm breaking the habit
I'm breaking the habit tonight
*All rights of song belong to Linkin Park. Lyrics written by Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennington*

That was the song that will always be attached what i feel in the past. i just got stuck in with no where to turn or go and worst still i have no idea how i have gotten so deep in the "disease." anyways, for now the stupid feelings still comes to haunt me and each criticism i faced brings it closer. But i have a much better coping technique than what i have done in the past. for me now i always tink for every such a person theres always good real friends like sha,yan or yana or my family or my religion. what important is IF u have a good friend/family members or whoever please go and tell that person positive things. they may smile and laugh and look happy on the outside but only god knows how miserable they could be. always remember, its harder to give positive comments than negative comments. so make the point to always give positive comments. and just in case some pricks think this is how i garner sympathy then screw ya. i dont need sympathy i just want to feel belong and open people's eyes that most suicide cases occur because all they get is just negative comments or negative feelings. so stop being such a self-centred person and tink of other's feelings before mouthing others off.
